I found it an enjoyable read, inspiring, precise, with good information about the music business.
He tells how God will use our experience to guide us toward His perfect will.
If you are looking for a good read about an amazing journey of one man’s walk with God, then I recommend this book.
You will laugh, ponder life, and maybe even shed a tear or two. One thing for sure, you will be blessed as I am.

Proverbs 20:24 states, “Man’s steps are ordained by the LORD, how then can man understand his way?” This observation certainly applies to John Bumgardner as described in his autobiography, Stroked By God. John has written an absolutely pleasurable read, recounting his life as a musician. His journey took him to places he never expected in business and the music world. These places included great triumphs and unexpected disappointments. In all the encounters John describes, he consistently notes the irony of how negative and some seemingly hostile acts lead him in the direction God intended. Even when he endured the effects of a stroke-like experience, in which he actually forgot how to play his instruments, he could see the hand of God guiding him back to where he should be, with added inventiveness. John is now a better musician than before the debilitating event. This is an encouraging story of how the hand of God guides those who seek Him even in the darkest of times. The conversational tone of the book makes it a most enjoyable read and those who personally know John will hear his voice on every page. For readers who want to see a real-life example of Romans 8:28, this is a book for you.
