About John
John Bumgardner is a virtuoso guitarist, multi-instrument musician, and singer-songwriter, originally from Gastonia, North Carolina. His first major success came when he moved to Nashville, TN and became a guitar player and manager for Paulette Carlson, (founding member of “Highway 101.”) But, nearing the height of his career in the music industry, John suffered a devastating medical event with many symptoms of a stroke.
This event seriously affected his dexterity and memory to the point he could no longer play his instruments. John’s unshakeable faith sustained him on a two-decade path to recovery. Through God’s grace, John has not only recovered his ability to play music. He now plays better than he ever did. In addition, John has released his own album, My Heaven is Blue, and continues to write and perform music in the Nashville area.
Although he received no formal training in science, John is also the inventor of Jingle Clean, an environmentally friendly and pet-safe cleaner which can be used to treat stains on carpets and many other fabrics. John again credits God with intuitively granting him the knowledge to create Jingle Clean.
In thanksgiving for the way God has redeemed him, John often shares his story from the stage when he performs. Many folks have encouraged him to write a book about his journey. Stroked by God is the poignant, funny, and inspirational story of John’s rise within the music business, his catastrophic stroke-like event, and the power of God’s healing and redemption. About Paul
Paul Deepan was born in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, and has lived for extended periods in Trinidad, England, Canada, and the United States. He expended a large portion of his earlier life accumulating university degrees in the life sciences and business administration.
He is currently a recovering pharmaceutical industry executive and writing addict. Paul is the author of the award-winning fantasy novel, The Fruit of the Dendragon Tree, and co-author (with Rich Redmond, drummer for country superstar Jason Aldean) of the Amazon bestseller The CRASH! Course for Success.
Paul has also written and produced several songs, including the collaboration with John Bumgardner, his co-author on Stroked by God, called Find Your Life, featuring Rich Redmond on the drums. When not pursuing his own creative interests, Paul ghostwrites and edits books for a diverse set of clients that have included business leaders, musicians, and athletes.
Stroked by God is his fourth such collaboration to be published. Paul currently resides near Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife Lori and a menagerie of rescue animals.
